The context
The client runs a national network of parking sites and fleet management. Every entry and exit brings two worlds together: the hardware in the field and the systems that hold subscriptions, permissions and payments.
The problem
Recognition in the field has to reach the software in real time. Without a fast link between the cameras and sensors and the systems behind them, every entry needs a person in a booth, and digital payment never closes the loop.
What Target built
We built an integrated system on license plate recognition. It takes the read from the hardware in the field and matches it to a subscription, a vehicle and a rate. On top of it we built mobile apps and dedicated web interfaces, with location based payment that settles immediately.
Results
Entries and exits run fully automated, and thousands of end users pass through the system every day. Staffed booths are not needed for the flow, which saves the client on staffing and operating costs.
